The iconic girl detective is back again, after disappearing from the scene for ages. This time round, Nancy Drew (Emma Roberts) is back as a nerdishly yet demure snoop(she sure is pretty cute for a nerd)as she accompanies her father to Los Angeles to investigate a long-unsolved mystery involving the death of a beautiful movie starlet.
Definitely a pleasing and refreshing update of a character who has gone missing in the prints since 1978. And what I like about the show is everything about Nancy is retro especially the blue 1959 roadster driven by the sleuth...slick and retro...yeah baby!! If you have read Nancy Drew's book since young (I grew up reading her books and the Hardy boys too), this movie would have been quite enjoyable although if the plot can be tweaked a bit more to make it more thrilling, that would definitely be more interesting.
